When the smoke cleared, all was calm. Being stuck in the middle of the ocean and having no idea where they are has left Vanessa and her pokemon separated from any communication, until they see a band of ships heading their way.
Vanessa: "Hey Homer, are those Kanto's ships or Johto's ships soaked in blood?"
Homer: "Sni."
Vanessa: "Figures."
